About the big icons in Vista

This article is devoted a question of the big icons in Windows Vista. I think all who saw Windows Vista has noticed that icons there are scaled. The size can reach 256*256 px. On a picture located hardly it is visible more low that some appendices have an icon 48*48 px, and some 256*256.In what a problem? Why so occurs? I was interested by this problem, and I have started to understand. I have created an icon 128*128 and have added it in the project. But the icon was displayed 48*48 px. I have started to study programs, in which icons big and programs, in which icons small. All has appeared there is no place is easier. At addition in the project of an icon in the size only 256*256 (in Delphi 7 the error for some reason jumps out, but anything terrible) an appendix icon is well scaled, beginning from 16*16 and finishing the greatest size 256*256 px.
I have started to understand further. Has created an icon supporting all the sizes long: 16, 24, 32, 48, 64, 72, 96, 128, 256. To download an icon. Has added in the appendix and here that at me has turned out: Windows displays an icon in the size 256*256 at any scale except 48*48, 32*32, 24*24 and 16*16. Simply OS automatically reduces it till the necessary size. At installation of scale equal 48*48 vista uses an icon of this size. Precisely as well for even three sizes of icons.
